There's no need to worry if you are not a candidate for laser hair removal because we have another hair removal option at Lynne's. Electrolysis has been around since 1875 and remains the only permanent form of hair removal suited to all genders, skin types, and hair colors. Obviously, the technology has improved, but the basic concept is unchanged. Electrolysis is a precise, hair-by-hair process, which involves a small, insulated, pre-sterilized needle that is inserted into each hair follicle. A combination of heat and electricity causes a chemical reaction at the follicle which causes the hair to detach at the root, and regrowth to become weaker and weaker over time until the root is permanently cauterized. A short "zapping" sensation is felt as each hair is treated, but compared to tweezing or waxing, it is certainly more tolerable - and most importantly, does not stimulate hair growth.
As electrolysis calls for each hair to be treated individually, it is a time-consuming endeavor. Most treatments on facial or small body areas in 30-minute and 60-minute sessions. Depending on the area being worked on, treatments may recur every 1 to 6 weeks for optimum results. Similar to laser, the number of treatments will vary from person to person. After completing several sessions, our Registered Electrologists will be able to give you a well-informed opinion on what you can expect going forward.
Lynne has been performing permanent hair removal for over two decades, and besides being extremely skilled and experienced, she is very knowledgable about her electrolysis profession. In addition, Dayna, our RN is also a licensed Laser Electrolysis specialist.
Our Apilus electrolysis device offers advanced technology with proven effectiveness in the field of permanent hair removal. This system limits the level of destruction within the hair follicle, targeting only germ cells and applying a current adjusted to each hair type and treatment area. Consequently, this protects the skin and prevents new hair growth.
During your initial consultation, we will explain how the electrolysis procedure works and customize a treatment plan just for you. If you are a candidate for electrolysis, we will also remove some hairs from the area you wish to have cleared. This is mutually beneficial as we can fine-tune settings to choose what best suits you, and you can experience the comfort of the procedure and know what to expect for your next treatment.
When it comes to electrolysis, Lynne's specialty is brow shaping. For 25 years she has been designing brows to create the perfect shape to define your eyes, while also framing your face.
While everyone's natural brow shape is different, Lynne is a master at perfecting your shape to suit you. Put your tweezers away and let her do the work. She will map them first to decide which shape is best for you.
For those with fine, sparse, and stray brow hair, we are able to clean up the brow area and create beautiful, defined brows.
For those with gray or blonde brow hair - we can help. Besides shaping the brows, we also offer brow tinting services to add more attention to your eyes.
Includes a test patch - not a full treatment
